Antro Love

I LOVE Anthropologie. In reality I don't think there are many women that don't. However if given the opportunity I would not hesitate to live on the store (Though I think my fiance would...) Here are some examples of this seasons awesomeness...

Embroidered Loom Part Drawing by Cross Stitch Ninja

I saw this embroidery on Flikr and it went immediately into my favorites. The time and patience this had to have taken is just insane. The only thing more astonishing is how perfect and clean the work is there isn't a single stitch that looks out of  place. Done by Cross-stitch ninja on flikr, check out her page for more ridiculously awesome pieces!

Cute Stuff My Mom Makes : Celine Garter

My mom runs a super beautiful wedding shop on etsy called Y&E Bridal. Although I run the customer service part of the shop, my mom is the one who makes everything and comes up with ideas. Right now my favorite piece she has made is called the Celine garter. I ususally describe it as the "strawberry milk garter." Its my favorite because I just think creamy pink and  ivory look so good! It reminds me of Marie Antoinette =)

Cool Artists: Camille Rose Garcia

There are some artists whose style is so very different from anyone else around that their work can show up and even without a name you just know its their work. I think Camille Rose Garcia is definitly one of these artists. I think of her work as creepy, cute  and beautiful all at the same time. Just recently at Barnes and Noble I even saw that she did all the artwork for a newly released version if Alice in Wonderland and seriously it is awesome! Here is just a sample of some of her work:

Recipe: Base Teriyaki Sauce

One of my boyfriends favorite places in the world is a local restaurant chain called Tokyo Joe's. I'm sure every city had something like it with curry bowls, edamame, fast sushi and of course teriyaki bowls. Whenever he goes there he always, always order the chicken teriyaki bowl with vegetables. He could eat that for every meal, everyday eating out is too expensive and he absolutley detests the bottled stuff. Thus I went to The Japanese Kitchen to figure out how to make it myself.
The first time making it seemed like a long process because I babied it and stirred the whole time but now I know you walk away for a bit and just let the sauce reduce on its own and it will be fine.

Here is how to do it:

The Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup mirin
-1/4 cup sake or rice wine
-1/4 cup soy sauce
-2 Tablespoons sugar

*These ingredients can be easily found at local Asian supermarket.

Pour all ingredients in a small pan. At this point the consistency of the mixture should be like coffee or water. Put the pan on low to medium low heat for 25 minutes checking back only occasionally.

After 25 minutes check the consistnency. It should be
thick like a syrup.

Here is how it should coat a spoon. At this point take it off the heat and let cool for 10 minutes.

After letting the sauce cool for a bit. Drizzle over rice, meat and vegetables and enjoy! =)

My Upcoming Project...

So I am almost done with the embroidered necklace (which I will show pics of soon) So it is time to find another project. I saw these arm warmers from the Chanel Fall 09 collection a while ago on style.com and really they are just so awesome!! I'm not sure if they even sold these or they were just accessories for the runway show but they are so cool. I'll start to figure out how to make them soon and if I am successful maybe I can make a tutorial!! =)

Long, Long time!

Ah, It's been a loooong time since I have updated but I promise I am going to start being better!!! Not a ton has been going on BUT I started playing Final Fantasy 13 yesterday and wow 3 discs and the most amazing graphics I have ever seen on a video game! The fighting parts look like the cutscenes, its just amazing and we don't even have an HD television. I wonder what the game would look like in all it's HD glory...sigh... anyways here is the trailer again if you were thinking about getting it trust me it is worth the splurge =)
